Sharing Web Resources

The website of the early childhood organization I chose is Zerotothree.org.  There are links on the website leading to an online bookstore; other links lead to the Early Head Start website and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
The area I chose to research is the behavior and development tab; in this section, there are several tips and tools for addressing behavior problems, mental health, play and sleep.
The last newsletter I received was about home violence; it promoted a handbook that provides advice for dealing with children with mental and behavioral problems due to violence.
On the Zero To Three website, a search tab is available to get articles about equity and excellence in early care and education.  There is also a Public Policy tab where you can find articles about state and community policy.
The Zero To Three website helped me learn about ways to treat children with behavioral problems cause by trauma or maltreatment.  I have also read many articles about promoting school readiness for preschoolers.

  1. Hi Ghayna,

The podcast series on infant/toddler development also looks like a valuable resource if I were ever to teach parents.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi Ghayna,
Zero to three is a great resource for early childhood professionals and parents as well. I have navigated the website many times and found interesting topics about infants and toddler's development. There are lots of useful information about brain development.
    Thanks

  3. Ghayna, I like what you said about “The last newsletter I received was about home violence; it promoted a handbook that provides advice for dealing with children with mental and behavioral problems due to violence.” This link hits home personally because I have been around so many children that have had and/or are having mental and behavioral problems because of violence within the home. I will have to check out the website.

  4. Hi Ghayna,

You and I subscribed to the same website and it is amazing the wealth of knowledge this website has to offer. I found many of the things you talked about and some others as well. This is a website that continues to change and grow just as this field does on a daily bases. Great blog.

  5. Hi Ghayna, that website sounds awesome! I would love to look into that one to explore the article on behavior. I find it disrupting to have a child that has behavioral issues that I can not help him/her manage, so I'm hoping that site will offer some good pointers how to help manage behavioral issues in the classroom. Thanks for the informatipon!

  6. Ghayna,

I am going to the website now! I look forward to learning some more information about each of those topics. I have had a few cases where my students were put into the custody of the state while in my class. Being able to emotionally support my students in school is an important part of my job, I feel. Looking forward to finding some new info about emotional issues!

  7. Hello Ghayna,

Thanks for sharing this website with us. It appears to be very informative! I can't wait to visit this website. This is exactly what we need as educators. Especially this day and age we need to learn how to handle our students who have experience terrible things. We need to learn how to nurture them instead of shunning them. Thanks again for sharing and I can not wait to visit this site.
